Our winter campout was over last weekend, Jan 26-27. Thirteen scouts were on the trip and they has a double session of BB guns and an afternoon session of Cooking and Knots provided by Tom Stoddard. For the afternoon session, we walked from the OA Lodge in Camp Somers to the Kent Center in Wheeler taking a historic trail past some ruins by the stream between the two lakes. On the way back, we took Chapel Road using mostly by the light of a very bright full moon. The boys and leaders were treated to an astronomy lesson from Anthony Pisano (telescope by Keith Donnelly) looking at the moons of Jupiter and a stellar nursery in Orion.
